TFT Patch 10.12 Predictions

Since the PBE is such a volatile environment to play compositions in and due to the lack of reliable statistics, we’re limiting the list to three tiers. Please note that these are just predictions and are unlikely to be completely accurate.

A Tier

Sorcerer Riven/Gangplank

Riven Sorcerer Late Game Level 9

Economy: Standard

Players Supported: 2-3

Consistency: A

Item Reliance: B

This is basically a slightly new take on a traditional Sorcerer Gangplank build. Riven is a new 4-cost unit that can hold all of Gangplank’s items very efficiently and the composition can function perfectly without ever hitting Gangplank. This makes the composition much more reliable as you’re not completely doomed when you don’t roll Gangplank on your rolldown anymore. Another good thing about this composition is that you can roll at Level 7 if you’re bleeding out and not feel too bad about it.

The composition is pretty simple, play 6 backline Sorcerers, add Riven or Gangplank and then add another good frontline unit such as Gnar.

Counters

  • Mana Reaver – Whether it’s Riven or Gangplank, them casting quickly is vital to the composition’s success, Mana Reaver effects such as the synergy or Shroud of Stillness is a great way to slow down their casting.

Variations

  • Riven can be swapped for Gangplank in most scenarios.

Rebel Demolitionist

Rebel Demolitionist

Economy: Fast 8

Players Supported: 2-3

Consistency: A

Item Reliance: B

The best composition at the end of Patch 10.11 is still one of the best compositions in the game. The new Giant Slayer gives Jinx a new best-in-slot carry item that she can wreak even more havoc than before with. There are however two big changes, first is the loss of Sona which means it’s much harder to fit Mystic into this composition and the second is the removal of Seraph’s which means Ziggs cannot be the main carry in the composition anymore. Ziggs is still a great unit to help Jinx reset but this composition should not be focused around Ziggs 3* anymore. Zed can hold Jinx items early-game and can be a decent backline threat if given some items.

Counters

  • Mana Reaver – In the late-game Rebels are very dependant on Gangplank’s spellcast to win the fight, if Gangplank is hit by Mana Reaver then it’s unlikely he’ll cast before he goes into Guardian Angel, which might give enough time for the enemy composition to break through the Rebel frontline.

Variations

  • Shen/Riven can be added at Level 9

Astro Sniper

Astro Sniper

Economy: Standard

Players Supported: 2-3

Consistency: A

Item Reliance: A

A brand new composition featuring two Sniper carries with the very effective Astro frontline duo. Jhin holds AD items while Teemo gets AP and Mana items which results in a very consistent build. Gnar and Nautilus are two of the best frontline units to buy time thanks to their AoE CC ults and general tankiness. This combined with Teemo’s spell slowing down enemies as they advance means it takes the enemy composition a very long time to reach the backline, which should give Jhin more than enough time to pick off targets one-by-one.

Counters

  • Infiltrators – Astro Snipers rely on two vulnerable ranged carries for their main damage, Infiltrators jumping right past their frontline is a massive problem for them to deal with.

Variations

  • Blitzcrank can be swapped out for Thresh.
  • 2 Mystics can be swapped out for 2 other Snipers

Protector Sniper

Protector Sniper

Economy: Slow Roll (Level 6)

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: B

Item Reliance: B

Another sniper composition that utilizes the buffed Protector frontline, Jhin has less of a priority in this composition as you mainly rely on your 3* Protector units to carry you. This composition is matchup dependent as some compositions are able to tear through Xin Zhao much faster than others. Nevertheless, an extremely effective composition if you can get your hands on the required Xin Zhao items.

Counters

  • Giant Slayer – The new Giant Slayer is basically designed to counter high health and very resistant units, which perfectly describes the Protector frontline.
  • Infiltrators – Like other Sniper compositions, Infiltrators are very effective.

B Tier

Brawler Blaster [Rebels]

Brawler Blaster [Rebels]

Economy: Standard

Players Supported: 2-3

Consistency: A

Item Reliance: A

An old classic with some new tools. Gnar is a welcome addition to the composition due to the crowd control he offers and the reworked Giant Slayer is Jinx’s new best item. Mystic can’t be reliably fit at Level 8 anymore due to the loss of Sona, but the Demolitionist variant is still extremely effective. 4 Brawlers can be acquired much easier with the addition of Illaoi, which should result in a smoother mid-game.

As always, utilize Lucian as an early game carry unit (preferably with Red Buff), later transferring items over to Jinx and relying on her as the main carry. Blitzcrank hooks a unit to provide Jinx with a quick reset while the rest of the Brawlers buy time for her to ramp up.

Counters

  • Preventing Jinx takedowns – Preventing Jinx from getting takedowns is the most effective way to stop this composition dead in its tracks, this is typically done with very strong frontline units such as Shen

Brawler Blaster [Battlecast]

Brawler Blaster [Battlecast]

Economy: Slow Roll (Level 6)

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: A

Item Reliance: B

A composition reminiscent of the Set 2 Predator composition, relying on Kog’Maw as your main carry with on-hit items so that he can proc the Battlecast synergy as much as possible. You want your Kog’Maw to do as many instances of damage as possible so items such as Statikk Shiv, Red Buff and Runaan’s Hurricane are very strong on him.

Kog’Maw does fall off unless he is 3* so either slow roll to 3* him or alternatively transition out of the composition into the Rebel variant.

Protector Mystic

Protector Mystic

Economy: Slow Roll (Level 6 or 7)

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: C

Item Reliance: B

Another Protector composition that relies mainly on your Protectors with some assistance from Cassiopeia, the first offensive Mystic in the game. It’s a lot less consistent than the Protector Snipers composition mostly due to the fact that you’re lying on two frontline carries who can get destroyed by certain things such as Giant Slayer.

Counters

  • Giant Slayer – The new Giant Slayer is basically designed to counter high health and very resistant units, which perfectly describes the Protector frontline.

Star Guardian Sorcerer

Star Guardian Sorcerer

Economy: Slow Roll (Level 7)

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: B

Item Reliance: B

The Star Guardian trait has been bugged for many patches and has only now been fixed, which really allows the composition to shine along with a new 5-cost Star Guardian in Janna. Janna grants true damage on Star Guardian auto attacks while also buffing the attack speed of the whole board, the result being that AD items aren’t completely useless in this composition anymore. Syndra’s damage now spills over to other targets when she overkills which makes her a much more reliable carry.

All these changes result in a much smoother experience when playing this composition and I definitely recommend trying it out.

Counters

  • Mana Reaver – Syndra and Neeko’s spellcasts are vital to the success of this composition, slowing them down in any way is a great way to slow down this composition

Rebel Blademaster [Infiltrator]

Rebel Blademaster [Infiltrator]

Economy: Slow Roll (Level 6)

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: C

Item Reliance: C

The beloved “Bang Bros” comp is back with a new sibling named Zed. He provides a backline threat while also benefiting from the Rebel buff and can absolutely destroy teams when he is given the  Blademaster trait. The addition of Riven also means that 2 Chrono can easily be obtained while also getting 6 Blademaster. Fizz rounds out the composition and adds some needed crowd control.

This composition lacks consistency due to the necessity of hitting your 3* units but when you hit everything it can outright demolish lobbies.

Dark Star Sniper

Dark Star Sniper

Economy: Standard

Players Supported: 2-3

Consistency: B

Item Reliance: B

A familiar comp that was slightly adjusted for the Dark Star changes and the removal of Kassadin/Lux. The composition lacks front-line compared to most other compositions but the damage potential is through the roof once Jhin and Xerath get some Dark Star stacks, which now generate from any unit’s death.

Counters

  • Infiltrators – Dark Star Snipers also rely on two vulnerable ranged carries for their main damage, Infiltrators jumping right past their frontline is a massive problem for them to deal with.

Cybernetic Blademaster

Cybernetic Blademaster

Economy: Standard

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: B

Item Reliance: C

6 Cybernetics are now much easier achieved with the addition of Vayne, a 3-cost Cybernetic, but they are still not the greatest of compositions due to the unreliability of Irelia as a carry, especially when you can’t get your hands on an Infiltrator spat. Ekko did receive some nice buffs so he can be used as a carry in the composition now though. Overall the composition is decent but can fall off late-game unless you can get Irelia 3*.

C Tier

Mech Infiltrator [Sorcerer]

Mech Infiltrator [Sorcerer]

Economy: Slow Roll (Level 6)

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: B

Item Reliance: B

Mech Infiltrator suffers from the removal of Kaisa and Demolitionist Spatula, but nevertheless remains playable with Zed carry. The Super-Mech also received a lot of changes which result in it being much tankier but the units that eject from the Mech only have a third of their health remaining when they eject. It doesn’t seem nearly as effective as it was when Kaisa was the Infiltrator carry but Zed has been buffed recently which might give the composition a better fighting chance.

Rebel Blademaster [Demolitionist]

Rebel Blademaster [Demolitionist]

Economy: Slow Roll (Level 6/7)

Players Supported: 1-2

Consistency: C

Item Reliance: B

Another “Bang Bros” variant that is much more true to the original composition, with Demolitionist replacing Mystic. Shen, Yasuo, Master Yi, and Rumble are all slow-rolled to 3* with Yi and Yasuo being the two main carries. Rumble has been buffed in every aspect from his pre-patch version and his ult now does a whopping 1500 damage at 3*. Ziggs with Blue Buff is an incredibly powerful early-game unit and should help you get to your 3* units.
